GVAA would like to thank our departing board members for their time and service to our league: Chad Amato, Brandon Bowen, Dan Monaghan, Rob Valli and Rob MacMurray.
A special thanks to Rob MacMurray, who steps away after 16+ years as a coach and board member. Rob has played a vital role in helping to lead our league in a variety of roles, including Memorial Day Tournament Director, Umpire Coordinator and League Commissioner. Rob reminds us on a daily basis that we are a Youth Rec League first and foremost. Our job is to continue to give young players the opportunity to play and learn the game.
Congratulations to our 13u Vikings who won the Southern NJ State Babe Ruth Title with a 1-0 shutout over Atlantic Shore in the championship game. The team advanced to the Mid Atlantic Regionals and had an impressive run reaching the Championship game. The team fell short 4-3 to Broomall-Newtown in the title game but it was an outstanding summer of baseball for the 13u squad.
How about the 9u Vikings led by Sean Henderson! His squad went a perfect 4-0 in the District 4 Tournament with wins over Cherry Hill National, Moorestown, Mt. Laurel and Medford. That's a run against some of the strongest programs in the area. Sean's team is the first GVAA team to win a district title since 2022.
The team had a strong showing in the Ripken State Tournament with a second place finish and concluded their outstanding summer by competing in the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in New York.
And how about the 12u Vikings...They came o so close to pulling off a remarkable District Championship. After an opening game, 14-2 loss to host Moorestown, John Conners' squad fought off elimination with 4 straight wins. In the District championship, they needed to beat Moorestown twice. They nearly did it. They won the first game, 6-5 to force a deciding game.
Unfortunately in a heartbreaker, they would fall 10-8 in extra innings... but what a way to fight back and not give up. They will also head to the State Tournament looking for a title.
Also a shout-out to the 8u district squad, who went 2-2 in districts and earned a spot in the State Tourney as well!
Congrats to the 14u SJ league Championship for winning it all, coached by Chris Jarsen.
And congrats to our 7u teams, which were very competitive in 4 tournaments over the last month. The Navy & Cardinal combined to go 18-13 and had a few runner up finishes!

What a performance by our 9u Vikings! The boys fought their way to a 2nd place finish in the Ripken Southern NJ State Tournament. Then in the Mid-Atlantic Regionals, the Vikings advanced to the Semifinals. A great run by all the players, coaches and families!
