The 1st/2nd Grade League is the first opportunity for GVAA players to experience real baseball.  We keep score and count outs in the book and on the scoreboard.  

Games will be 6 innings or 1 hour & 45 minutes (whichever comes first).  Each half inning will end at 3 outs or when the 5 run max rule is reached. 

The first 3 innings will be coach pitch followed by 3 innings of kid pitching. 

There is no stealing and coaches will be the umpires.  With this format it is essential to have balanced teams with a good mix of 1st and 2nd graders/talent on each team.   

Depending on weather, coach availability and field availability, practices will start in mid-late March.  

Starting March 28th games will be played on Saturday and weeknights around 6:00. 

For safety reasons, every child will not get to play every position.

Players will need to have cleats, an appropriately sized glove, bat and batting helmet.  Uniforms will come in late March.
